Job Description
This position is within the EKFC1 Operations Department – Warewash. The position reports to the Operations Manager. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES •Allocate work to assigned Team Leaders and Team Members in order to ensure EK requirements are met in line with laid down specifications and hygiene standards. •Supervise Team Leaders and Team Members on the day-to-day tasks so as to maintain their focus in delivering clean equipment items. •Carry-out yearly performance appraisals for assigned direct and indirect reports. Ensuring that staff development plans are in place and that poor performance is cascaded to the Operations Manager’s. •Continuous auditing of shop floor activities to ensure compliance to established work flow standards. •Monitor equipment levels on the inline bin buffer system when on shift and take corrective action when the levels fall below the minimum stock levels. •Review established work processes and continuously improve by eliminating waste and submitting QW’s as per department targets. •Continuously monitor overall work schedules to ensure on-time performance and internal delivery times are maintained. •Ensure that all equipment types are washed and handled properly so that soiled reject rates is less than 3% and breakages less than 1% per line. •Comply with and practice EKFC Occupational Health and Safety Policy and procedures. •Apply the Quality Policy and Quality System established in accordance with ISO 9001:2008 international standards and execute all responsibilities according to the department work procedures while reflecting EKFC Quality Policy. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES •Graduate Degree or Diploma holder in any discipline. •High standards of verbal and written communication in English. •Extensive experience in a supervisory role in an airport catering services environment. •Hands-on experience working towards KPI’s relating to cost, compliance, service and people. •Demonstrated ability to manage staff. •Ability to resolve customer complaints and anticipate emerging customer needs to continually improve service standards. •A professional manner with the ability to work under pressure to meet targets and achieve results. •Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively. •Experience working in a multi-cultural environment. •Demonstrated ability to maintain constructive relationships with others. About the Recruiter
Emirates Flight Catering is 90% owned by Emirates airline, with the remaining share being held by Dubai Civil Aviation. In July 2007, the Company inaugurated its technologically advanced catering facility dedicated to servicing the flights of Emirates airline. The facility, with a built-up area of over 56,000 square metres and the capacity to produce over 115,000 meals per day, is the largest of its kind in the world in terms of volume throughput. It features high levels of automation including a 2.55km long electric monorail system for the transportation of meal carts, a bin conveyor system to transfer clean items from the Warewash area to the Production and Operations Departments, and a vacuum waste system with pipes over 600m in length.
The existing facility was originally commissioned in 1982 and has been continually updated and upgraded since then. The Company also caters to other airlines operating at Dubai International Airport. In total, the Company services over 110 regular airline clients.
